Big Bad Husband, Please Wake Up! is a new mini-series that takes viewers on a delightfully chaotic ride. Centered around the Mitchell and Lewis families in modern-day Los Angeles, this show traces the fallout when Mitchell’s younger daughter Ciara is forced into an arranged marriage with Adrian Lewis, who just so happens to be in a coma. Desperate to secure this alliance, the Mitchell family resorts to fraud by having Ciara pose as her half-sister Flora.

Of course, this already messy situation grows even thornier when Adrian wakes up, having no idea he now has a wife he’s never met. What follows is a series of highly entertaining confrontations and hijinks as Adrian tries getting to the bottom of this bizarre arrangement while the half-siblings on both sides scheme and backstab to come out on top.

Without giving too much away, the strength of this mini-series lies in the witty dialogue and sheer absurdity of the premise. When Adrian awakens, his reactions to discovering he’s mysteriously married are priceless, ranging from utter confusion to unbridled fury. His growing attraction to Ciara, despite her role in the duplicitous marriage, also adds some steamy romantic tension to balance out the more over-the-top comedic moments.

Of course, the complications multiply exponentially thanks to meddling from the various half-siblings, each of whom brings drama and secrets of their own to the table. Adrian’s half-brother Andrew in particular, stirs up trouble, still bitter he was passed over as heir.

With new outrageous twists emerging every episode, Big Bad Husband, Please Wake Up! is a rapid-fire rollercoaster that makes viewers yearn to see what disaster might unfold next. The cast has terrific chemistry, driving the tension while still punctuating emotional moments with much-needed doses of levity. Silly yet full of heart, this show takes an extremely odd premise and spins pure gold. This mini-series deserves plenty more seasons to build on the mayhem begun in its first outing on screen.
